2. Facilitating the learning of a skill. There are four phases to learning a skill:

- Information giving
- Evaluating what values, attitudes and beliefs the learners have towards the new information
- Practical application of the skill in a laboratory or classroom situation
- Practicing the skill until mastery is achieved
