HIV / AIDS services exist to assist organisations to establish, or improve upon existing HIV/AIDS interventions by providing guidance and services to reduce the impact and effectively manage the HIV/AIDS epidemic within the organisation.

1. Pre-project preparation
1. HIV/AIDS Company Audit
Service: Extensive questionnaire to determine the company HIV readiness with recommendations for company related interventions and programme suggestions. Duration: The time it takes for the client to return the completed document plus 2-3 days to analyse the data and develop recommendations. Participants: Those interested in the recommendations, Usually HR, finance, CEO and the board.
2. Assisting to institute a fully representative HIV/AIDS committee/ project team
Service: Guiding the team through the process of strategic planning for managing the risk that HIV poses to the company. Duration: ½ day workshop & report with recommendations. Participants: Fully representative HIV/AIDS project team. Should not have more than 10 members.
3. KAB/P survey
Service: Survey to determine the Knowledge, Attitudes, Behaviours and Practices of the employees. Peer Educators can carry out this component on the 2nd week of their programme - the ETC team will do the analysis and report back. Duration: Determined by the number of participants. Participants: Voluntary - all employees.

2. HIV/AIDS Policy development or review
1. Writing or updating the company Policy
2. Workshop with the HIV/AIDS committee /project team to develop or update the company HIV Policy
Service: A generic policy or the current company policy will be given to each participant. The group will discuss each component and agree or disagree. ETC will deliver the completed agreed upon Policy via email. Duration: ½ day workshop. Participants: HIV/AIDS project team.

1. Start-up workshop
Service: Strategic planning workshop to determine employee participation, consultant participation, sub-project budgets, commencement dates, timelines, evaluation criteria, indices, completion dates, etc. Duration: ½ day. Participants: HIV/AIDS project team and other seconded staff members.
2. Project management of the entire HIV/AIDS risk management programme
Service: Setting of time lines, sending out of invites, booking dates and venues, collecting names, collecting evaluation forms, reporting on progress, planning meetings, progress meetings, mentorship, etc.

1. Information and awareness seminar
Service: What is HIV and AIDS, Transmission, prevention, living positively with HIV, treatment options for HIV. Duration: ½ day. Participants: All.
2. Information and awareness seminar
Service: What is HIV and AIDS, Transmission, prevention, living positively with HIV, treatment options for HIV. Socio-economic impacts and minimising these impacts. Duration: 1 day. Participants: All.
3. HIV/AIDS seminar to top management
Service: Socio-economic and psychosocial impacts. The disease process Managing an HIV positive employee Gaining support for the forthcoming VCT programme. Duration: 1 day. Participants: Executive management, top and middle management (max 30 delegates).
4. HIV/AIDS seminar for middle to lower management including a Company Matrix
Service: Peer Educator selection process. Socio-economic and psychosocial impacts; The disease process; Managing an HIV positive employee; Gaining support for the forthcoming Peer Education & VCT programme. Training to nominate PE's in the work place, grid mapping the plant and nominating key personnel to support the Peer Educators in the workplace during the programme. Duration: 2 days. Participants: Human resources, personnel and labour leadership, middle to lower management, production line managers, supervisors, union leaders, etc (max 30 delegates).
5. Peer Educators Course
Service: A 7 day course broken up into two 3-day sessions and a 1-day exam. The Peer Educators course is unique in that it has a 48-week programme for the PE's to follow, the success of each weekly session is monitored and the progress of each PE group is tracked. A management fee is charged for tracking. To be negotiated. Coaching and mentoring is offered at 4-6 weekly intervals at the daily rate. Suits a production/factory environment. Duration: 7 days initial training, 8 X ½-day coaching and mentorship sessions. Participants: Selected PE's (max 16 delegates).
6. Peer Counsellors Course
Service: Peer Counsellor mentorship and coaching. A 7 day course broken up into two 3-day sessions and a 1-day exam. Mentorship, coaching, updating and problem solving. Suits an office based environment. Duration: 7 days initial training. ½ day workshop every month X 8. Participants: Selected Peer Counsellors (max 16 delegates), all Peer Counsellors.
7. Advanced HIV/AIDS Counsellors Course
Service: HIV/AIDS counsellors course. Complies with National Health minimum standard guidelines of 108 hours=14½days. A written and practical exam will be done on day 15.

Duration: 15 days broken up into 3 sets of 5 days with a week between each set. Assignments will be given in the breaks. Participants: This course is for companies that employ occupational health nurses, PHC nurses, Doctors, social workers, psychologists, EAP practitioners or lay counsellors. (min 6 & max 20).
8. Basic HIV/AIDS Counselling Course
Service: 10 day counselling course - please note that this course does not comply with the National Health minimum standard guideline. It is designed to accommodate those organisations who cannot afford their employees to be away from work for a protracted period of time or those that wish to add the 5 day Wellness & Disease management course to the counselling course. Duration: 10 days broken up into 2 sets of 5 days each with a break of 1 to 2 weeks in between. Participants: This course is for companies that employ occupational health nurses, PHC nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists or EAP counsellors. (min 6 & max 20).
9. Master Trainers course
Service: Designed to educate HIV/AIDS trainers to equip them to carry out Peer Educator training within their organisation. Duration: 15 days broken up into 3 sets of 5 days, with a 2 to 3 week break in between. Participants: Trainers and facilitators who will be training Peer Educators for the company in the future.

6. Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT)
1. Negotiation with management and labour for VCT
Service: VCT presentation. Negotiation and planning. Duration: ½ day seminar. Participants: Management and labour.
2. Pre and post-test counselling and performance of rapid HIV tests.
Service: ETC Counsellors come on site and do pre-test counselling, carry out rapid HIV testing and provide post test counselling. A second confirmatory rapid test will be carried out for each positive test. Duration: Each client takes between 20 - 60 mins depending on the test result. (min 4 & max 16 per day). Participants: All employees who agree to be tested.
